A few years ago, not long after purchasing my MacBook Pro computer, I realized I was in love. Or something like it. If my house caught on fire and I was only able to carry one (inanimate) object out with me, it would be my MacBook. Yes, it holds all my music, photos, videos, and documents– which I would fiercely want to protect from the flames. But it’s also the best computer I’ve ever used. And a good thing is surely worth saving.
So, why exactly do I think the MacBook Pro is so great? What fuels my burning love?
Intuitive to use
When I first switched from Windows to Mac, I was worried that it would be difficult to learn the new operating system. I’m not particularly computer or tech savvy, and it had always taken me a lot of trial and error to figure out new things on a PC. Not the case with the MacBook Pro. As it turns out, basically everything on a Mac is intuitive. In my experience, there has never really been much to “learn.” Even when using programs or functions for the first time– organizing files, editing pictures in iPhoto, uploading videos– I’ve found that I just sort of know how to do it, or can easily figure it out.
Along the same lines, one of the things I love most about my MacBook Pro is how simple it is to connect to the internet. No matter where I go, it’s easy to hop on to a Wi-Fi network. Built-in Bluetooth lets me use a wireless mouse, which is nice for when I’m doing more extensive photo or video editing and want a full mouse instead of the trackpad.
Apple chalks the computer’s speediness up to the Intel processor and high-speed DDR3 memory. Honestly, I don’t have a very technical understanding of how that all works. But I do know that my MacBook Pro is fast. Running multiple programs, loading photos, and booting up the computer all go smoothly and speedily– which means I can be more productive / watch more cat videos per hour.
What’s the one thing you’d save from a burning building? Any other MacBook lovers out there?
