Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Vann’s. We hope you’re gathering with family, watching the Macy’s Parade on your flat screen, getting ready to crank the home theater for an afternoon football game, and glad you have an oversized dishwasher to end the day.
That’s what your above average on-line electronics store considers a happy holiday!
It’s been a tumultuous year here, and we are very thankful for our customers, and for our new owner, Greg Regelbrugge. We hope to hear from you throughout the holidays, and for the next 52 years.
Enjoy your dinner, and have a great weekend.

As you gear up for Black Friday, you may be looking for deals on different digital cameras and camcorders. And you may have noticed that many top-rated digital cameras now come equipped with built-in Wi-Fi. So how does this technology work and what are the benefits to it? Here’s a closer look at Wi-Fi cameras and why you just might want to grab one this holiday season.
They’ve started preparing . . . have you?
This time of year, there’s one event that challenges and describes Americans better than any other. There are long hours of preparation, poring over arcane writings; there is blood and sweat; there is extreme joy, and also extreme pain and suffering. It’s this time of year that truly tests your physical and emotional endurance.
I’m speaking, of course, about Black Friday.
This is the one time of year that seemingly normal human beings will endure standing outside a store at 3 a.m. on a winter’s morning (after appearing outside at some point the night before) in order to get the chance at seemingly impossible deals in preparation for the most wonderful time of the year. It is the truest test of a shopper’s prowess.
But, like any test, preparation is the key to success. Take a moment to peruse these five steps, from my veteran perspective, that will help make sure your Black Friday does not turn into a Bleak Friday. →
5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
40″ TCL TV
And here we go! The holiday season is upon us.
Are you really planning to spend Friday morning jammed into some fat lady’s armpit, all in a desperate attempt to get to one of those amazing “door buster” deals.
You know they only have 2 in stock. Do you really want to sprint across aisles and dash through displays, along with hordes of others who would look more at home starring in Braveheart, to arrive third?
Energy home theater speakers
Boy, do we have a better solution for you.
Get ready for Cyber Monday at Vann’s
We’re going to make saving big as simple as mobilizing your mouse, making a few clicks, and then doing a little typing. Pretty soon, like magic, holiday cheer will start arriving at your door. And you didn’t even have to put on your shoes to do this. Or wake up at 5:00 AM to stand in the cold, rain and snow.
It also comes in red, white and silver
And to help you save money all day long, while shopping from home (or the office, though we’re going full deniability if you’re caught), we’re going to be posting hour long “screen busters” on our web site throughout the day. Like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Pinterest, so you’ll be amongst the first to get in on the deals. Which makes saving money and getting great electronics, audio, flat screen TV’s and digital cameras that much easier.
You’re going to love Cyber Monday at Vann’s. And sleeping in on Friday morning.
This is exactly how it feels to receive the great gif of audio.
If there’s one thing I love about the next few months, it has to be the music.
Don’t get me wrong, I do get sick of hearing every current band covering Jingle Bells on the radio (and over store speakers, and on everyone else’s radio, and…). But, for me, the ones that never get old are the classics. I have a fairly good collection of vinyl albums, collections of Christmas standards from the likes of Irving Berlin, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong.
With this in mind, I decided it was time to scour our Clearance Outlet and put together something to play those classics. And what better way to do it than with a great stereo speaker system?
Warm up some cider, grab some cookies, and act fast because this system may not be around for long. Especially since right now you get an extra 10% off everything in our Clearance outlet.
Maybe skip the cider and head right to the deals.
Keep the cookies though. →
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means that it’s time to gear up for some quality family time. (Don’t act too excited!) So how can you make this holiday fun for everyone? While we don’t have advice for avoiding a fight with your crazy brother-in-law, we do have some tips for making Thanksgiving more kid-friendly. Because when the kids are happy, everyone—even the crazy ones—is happier.
Look delicious? Read on for the recipe (and a few more to tempt your taste-buds).
The Holidays are a time for many things. Family. Friendship.

I don’t know about you, but I am a fanatic when it comes to finding cooking info on the web. Epicurious, Allrecipes, simplyrecipes — they all have their place when I go searching for a new dish. And let’s not forget the places where I can see if what I’m doing is correct, like America’s Test Kitchen, Good Eats or the multitude of Youtube videos that are available.
But, I have cooked with me before, and, quite frankly, I’m the kind of cook that can’t be trusted with my best tablet in the kitchen. I’ve had to clean spaghetti sauce from the wall, over my head, due to vigorous stirring. When I dust a pie crust, it’s not just the crust that gets dusted. And let’s not talk about doing dishes, cleaning countertops and boiling — all of which require water.

Last week we talked about panicking at the holidays. Today, we stop panicking and start planning. Today, we’re going to lay down a groundwork for getting the most from your refrigerator at the Holidays.
Hopefully you’ve done the prep work. Like eaten the ice cream out of the freezer, and the two half full salsa containers from the fridge. You know: to free up space. So let’s move on.

I voted… did you?
As much as we love poking a bit of fun at the elections in the name of No Sales Tax, Free Shipping, and Savings. . . we’re still a very patriotic bunch here at Vann’s.
That’s why we want to encourage everyone (even people in Kentucky, Indiana, and Nevada) to get out and vote today!
Here are a few links that may help you:
If you’re in Montana, you can find your polling place by going to this website:
Wondering who’s running and need a bit of last minute information? Google has a good resource on all the elections here:
