Kinect like never before on Valentine’s Day
Maybe you’re one of those people who thinks a romantic candlelit dinner and an evening of dancing can bring your love to new heights. Or maybe you’ve seen the movie Date Night, and you know those plans can be disastrous and/or deadly. Or perhaps you or your significant other has moves to rival Elaine from Seinfeld, in which case the dancing is just excruciatingly awkward.
We can’t help you so much with the romantic candlelit dinner, unless you’re in the market for a new range from an online appliance store, but we do have a suggestion that will let you bust some moves without public humiliation. A little game called “Dance Central” for one of the best gaming consoles, Microsoft Xbox 360 with Kinect, lets you turn up the heat with a little dance throw-down in your own living room this Valentine’s Day.
Choose from a dance-off pitting you against your significant other or a team dance where you can work the floor like pros in a choreographed masterpiece that would make any pop artist swoon.
The game gives you an illustrated explanation of each dance move, and the Kinect’s motion sensor, which makes it one of the best gaming console options, rates your performance. The head-to-head competition scores how closely each dancer is to matching the moves and rhythm of the game. It will even cheer you on as you score more points.
“Dance Central” features a range of music from modern pop to 70′s disco. Backdrops for the on-screen dancing include techno clubs, subway cars, and, apparently, dinosaur theme parks, so you can really mix it up.
This Valentine’s Day, instead of taking your favorite snuggle-bunny out for an evening of potentially humiliating full-body flailing, snag yourself a copy of “Dance Central” (and one of the best gaming consoles, an Xbox Kinect, if you don’t already have one), and stay in. Spice things up with a challenge and see which one of you deserves the prize for best moves on the dance floor.
