Fulfilling a wish
Every day should be like today.
I don’t just say that because it’s Saturday.
I say it because today I got to witness a wish being fulfilled.
Tyler
Before I go too much further, I’d like you to meet Tyler. Tyler is like any other 16-year old. He enjoys movies, loves rocking out to music, and hanging out with his friends. His biggest wish? A fully decked-out “Man Cave,” where he can go and enjoy being 16.
Tyler has also been diagnosed with Leukemia.
Thankfully, in this struggle Tyler has a lot of people in his corner. Loving family, friends, and one special group.
Make-A-Wish
For those who don’t know, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 who have a life-threatening medical condition. Their goal is to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
Many of the wishes they grant tend to be going to theme parks, meeting celebrities or athletes, or traveling somewhere exotic. Funding for granting wishes is done mostly through the generous support of individuals, as well as help from companies, with 75 cents of every dollar raised going directly to granting wishes.
For Tyler, Make-A-Wish coordinators worked with many individuals and local businesses to help not only get him the “cave” portion of his wish, but also to turn into an amazing room for him. Then, they contacted Vann’s to help make the electronics part of his “Man-Cave” a reality. We were honored to be asked, and more than happy to help.
Today, Tyler came and got his wish.
While there’s still a little more to do (Vann’s install is also going to make sure it all gets set up correctly in Tyler’s Man Cave), seeing someone get their wish granted is something that you don’t get to the opportunity to witness very often, and it’s something you don’t soon forget.
It’s something we should get to see every day.
