Sometimes something new is just what the doctor ordered. Whether it’s one of the newest, top-rated tablets with pixels in such density it makes a Black Hole seem spacious, or a new flat screen TV with so many features the manual makes a Russian novelist cry for brevity.
But, sometimes you just want something that works. Something that works well, and looks good. New doesn’t have to enter into the equation. Just cool.
Have you visited our online Clearance Outlet?

Let’s start off strong with LG’s 47″ 3D LED flat screen TV. Not only does this thing have a great picture, wireless internet capabilities, and a huge screen, it also features LG’s passive 3D capabilities.
That means that you can use almost any set of polarized glasses, and still get the 3D effect. You’ll get four pairs in the box, but if your friends keep them from the theater, those will work, too.
And, as a bonus, if you’ve got people in your life who can’t watch 3D (yes, we know it makes some people a bit woozy), you can easily create glasses that get rid of the 3D effect.

I’m going to be honest, there are better sound systems out there. Picking and choosing speakers will get you a better sound — but that also comes with a higher pricetag. This home theater system/Blu-ray player focuses on convenience, because you don’t have to worry about cluttering your home theater area with a bunch of boxes.
This system gives you 3D capabilities, and the rear speakers are wireless ready (with an additional kit from Panasonic). The system also has wired internet and streaming capabilities (like DLNA), but that’s not quite as big since you’ll already have that wirelessly with your TV.
And of course, sound-wise, it still blows the audio system on your flat screen TV out of the water.

If you’re a long time reader, you’re well aware of how I feel about surge protectors. I even got a chance to wax poetic about their green benefits over at the Eco-Officegals.com blog a short time ago.
These devices have saved me countless amounts of equipment trouble over the past several years, from my computer and home theater equipment shutting down suddenly during a power outage, to surge events that fried a light bulb or two, but didn’t actually touch the rest of my stuff.
And no, before there’s any question, I don’t mean a power strip. Those things are just fire hazards waiting to happen.
The C10 a great protector for a new home theater system at a great price. While it doesn’t have some cool features like switched outlets or green technology, good power filtration and strong surge protection make it a great, economical choice for building a home theater system on.

If you’re going to go flat screen, you might as well go wall mounted, too. The Omnimount LEDP75 works with most flat screen TVs 23″ to 60″, including (according to Omnimount) the LG47LW6500. This strong mount makes sure that your TV looks good on the wall, and is fairly easy to install (make sure you have at least one other friend though, if you’re going to try it on your own).
It’s not just a static mount though, the full motion design lets you tilt and swing your TV, just in case you need to change angles.
While we don’t have one in the outlet, full motion mounts can be really useful if you add a motion gaming console, like the Xbox 360 with Kinect or Wii, to your home theater system, and the clearest area for playing isn’t in front of the couch.
So grab yourself the system above, or take a look through out Clearance Outlet and build your own. If you don’t mind that it’s not brand new, it’s a smart way to save a bit of money on great electronics.
