What pushes the Etymotic MC3′s from sweet into super-sweet territory? We’ll have to wait for our CES Delegate Matt to get back to ask him what makes these some of the best headphones, but looking at the MC3′s stats gives us a few ideas.
Maybe it’s that while the included ear molds are a pretty good fit, they have the option for you to order custom-fit earphones, molded specially for your ears? Or perhaps it’s the 85%+ response accuracy on their headphone sound, something you may not find even in the best headphones available?
Or perhaps it’s the AWARENESS app on the Apple App Store that monitors outside sound, blocking out normal background noise, but letting anything that’s louder come through clearly — and as someone who’s found themselves hesitant to take noise-cancelling earbuds because of a fear of… oh… getting hit by a car or missing a friend yelling my name, that’s welcome news indeed.
It seems there’s plenty of reason why the MC3′s and Etymotic fall squarely into the super sweet category (Kevlar-reinforced cable? 2-year replacement warranties? iPod, iPhone, and iPad control functionality? Need I go on?), but to find out what else on the floor of CES is super sweet, keep an eye on Matt’s, and our other CES delegate’s, twitter feeds all through the event. And while you salivate wondering what makes these the best headphones, check out some of the other super sweet headphones Vann’s has ready to ship right now.
Our ongoing coverage of CES looks at Tweets from the Field by the Vann’s CES Delegates. What’s interesting at the Consumer Electronics Show? We find out for you!
