Get your head out of the clouds…and put your music, photos, documents, and other multimedia files there instead. Acer and Lenovo have both unveiled their new cloud storage services at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. This year, more computing companies are working to help us connect our smartphones, tablets, PCs, and other personal devices, so we can access our content anytime, anywhere, on any screen.
Following in the footsteps of Apple’s iCloud, AcerCloud will allow users to store and retrieve their files between any of their Android supported devices, with future plans to include Windows supported devices as well. Take a video on your smartphone and then watch it later on your home computer. No need to sync devices or send files; the cloud does it automatically using an existing Wi-Fi or 3G network.
Lenovo is also joining the market of cloud storage with their Personal Cloud. It will be released alongside several new products, the IdeaTab S2, Smartphone S2, and K91 smart TV, which were just unveiled at CES 2012.
